Disney Part 1

i know i have mentioned before on this blog but jon rocks when it comes to packing up and going places.
we make a good team.
i get everything in the bags and all i have to do it put in a pile.
he asks a couple questions like what bags do we need to be able to reach and stuff like that.
but for the most part he can read my mind and it's the best thing ever.
we had plans to leave our house by 6 a.m.
we had a 9:20 southwest flight.
we had to drive to STL, pick up my boss and then go to the airport.
which we said would take us an hour to do.
jon was up around 5:30, made himself some breakfast and got the whole car packed.
everyone else (cough, cassie, cough) was moving slow and we didn't leave our house until 6:45 a.m.
PLENTY of time i thought to myself!
i mean look at our faces.
the kids and i look relaxed - jon is freaking out inside.
lol.
of course we get stuck in traffic.
we didn't get to my boss's house until 8:00 and he still lives 10 - 15 minutes from the airport.
ha - he hauled ass to the airport.
we got in and checked our bags about 8:15 and saw that our plane was boarding at 8:50.
ahhh - plenty of time i said to myself.
until we saw the line for security.
we stood in that for a good 15 minutes oh and then jon got pulled for a random.
how awesome.  an extra 5-6 minutes of that, all while the kids are freaking.
by time he got out of that, put on his shoes and his belt we looked at each other and said - RUN!
we have seats 59 and 60 for the A's and they were just finishing up boarding the A's when we got there.
see - i totally planned that on purpose.
you know my kids and i hate waiting.  lol.
the kids walked right on the plane like they had been doing it for years.
we found some seats, three of us in on one slide, jon in the aisle on the other and prepared for take off.
i was SO nervous for henry because he gets car sick pretty easy - so i had him take some meds for flying.  yeah - it didn't phase him one bit.
he flew like a pro.
SO proud of him!!  they both did awesome, kept occupied and never complained.
of course we did have to try out the airplane bathroom.
because my children love using the bathroom EVERY WHERE WE GO!

once we landed we headed to board the magical express.
seriously disney has their stuff together.
the magical express is the way to go!
we got to our hotel (Art of Animation) and checked in, we had to wait about an hour for our room to be ready so we went and got our cups in the dining room and check out the hotel a bit.
once we got to our room (the Little Mermaid Room) the kids were shocked by how small it was.
ha - well kids, we aren't planning on spending a lot of time here, sorry bout cha.  lol.
we were right by the pool on the 4th floor so we had a great view.
but just getting to our room sucked.  it was quite a long walk from the dining room and from the bus drop off.  after about three trip we were over it.  lol.
once we got unpacked we changed clothes and headed to chef mickey's.
oh my gosh the food was awesome!
either that or we were starving from just eating snacks on the plane.  lol.
but we loved it - even henry said - mickey is a great cook!
when we got back to our hotel we did some night swimming and then crashed.
friday morning jon was up bright and early for a fishing excursion.
he LOVED it and said it was worth every penny!
we slept in, ate breakfast and checked out the Cars section of our hotel.
once jon was back he got our stroller from the front desk.
we rented a stroller from kingdom strollers and it was the best money we spent.
i just regret not getting it the first day.  lol.
it was a double stroller that folded up easy (once we figured it out) and it was just perfect.
the kids LOVED it!
we ate lunch, swam some more, took naps and then headed to downtown disney for the evening.
i am glad we went to downtown disney, but it's probably not a place we will go back to.
the lego store was cool, there were a few streets shows we caught, and we ate at earl of sandwich.
we got our free chocolate sample - which was worth it.  lol.
but otherwise i think we will X it from the plans next time.
we did find starbucks - which was amazing - and free thanks to our snack credits!!
we stayed at downtown disney pretty late.
once we got home henry insisted jon put together his legos he bought.
by 1 a.m. we were all finally zonked out.
READY to take on Magic Kingdom the next day!!

I think we posted at the exact same time, haha. I'm getting ready to Grace to school, and I can't wait to read this when I get back! I don't want to rush through it. :D

Love love love!

I agree with Downtown Disney...especially with it being under construction. We go there when we have time to kill, but after a long day dealing with the crowds can be a pain! We've never used the busses...how was that?? I'm not sure if we would rent a car or not if we ever fly. We've become really used to driving ourselves everywhere, haha. Can't wait to read about your Magic Kingdom day!
