I'm Just Saying.....

Fair warning, I'm PMS-ing.
I haven't missed this shit over the past 11 months.
Not one bit.

Let's talk about that kid that was all over the news last night.
Wait, let's straight up talk about his parents!
WTF!
Who sleeps until 11:30 with a 13 month old?
How are you NOT checking on this kid by 9:00 at the LATEST?
You are guilty guilty guilty!!
I drive through this neighborhood every morning and past the park too.
It was just so sad to see this morning.
People are eff-ed up!
Ok, off my soap box.

On a lighter note let's talk about my new savings record at Target.
$69.26
Boo-ya!

Ok, so now let's talk about taking two kids to the doctor by yourself.
With crazy wind.
In heels.
And a 21 month old who just decides she doesn't wana walk.
First off, of course I was late.
I'm late ALL the time.
So I'm like 12 minutes late.  Ok, I understand that's pushing it.
But when I come walking in with a carseat under one arm and a 25 pound kid in the other, a diaper bag close to falling off and my arm and hair so wind blown I can barely see, give me a break.
I literally had to sit and wait for them to call the doctor to see if it would still be ok for them to see my kid.
Since we were late.
12 minutes late.
WTF!!
Give me a damn break.
Can't you see I kinda have my hands full?
Ugh.
PTL for super awesomely nice people who totally feel sorry for you when they see you in situation like this and open every.single.door you have to walk through.
There are good people in this world.
Anyways, so once we finally got the approval that the doctor would still see my kid and I blew off the nurse's eye roll and took a deep breath so I didn't lose it on homegirl, we got in the waiting room and of course, WAITED!
God love doctor's offices.
Big sister was AWESOME and did so well.
She stood at the end of the table and watched over brother like it was her job.
Be still my heart. <3
And Henry is a growing little boy.
Oh, hold up.
So I got grilled for letting my boy sleep on his belly.
Doc was like we have lost three babies that way.
I was like RECENTLY?!!
He was like no probably over the last 5 years.
Ok, I mean is that even a statistic?
I just said, oh ok, and put my baby to sleep on his belly last night.
Homegirl was NOT in the mood yesterday.
This picture just makes me laugh and laugh.
Which way to the beach?
Check out my muscles and sexy bod!
All 14 pounds of it. lol.
And he's almost 2 feet tall!!
Lookin' good baby, lookin' good.

Surprinsgly enough I didn't end my night with an ice cold beverage, instead I went for a walk with Lacie and Stella.  Where Stella decided to ride backwards, close to standing a good majoirty of the way.
She's going to do great on the MetroLink someday.  Ha.
She also decided to kick one of her shoes off and we didn't notice it for awhile.
I had to run back and get it.
Pretty sure God was just telling me to throw in the towel and go to bed.
So I did.

Alright, I'm done.
Please tell me someone else out there thinks its totally ok for your baby to sleep on his belly.
And please tell me that you all agree that homegirl in Affton is guilty as all hell.
And please tell me that someone wants to meet for margs tonight.  Ha.
Have a good Wednesday!

Don't get me started on that whole baby issue. When I saw them go thru the house this morning and bring out a baby doll, my first thought was "other dead babies" because who buys a baby doll for a 13 month old baby boy. I think that's why they were walking thru the park again this morning...looking for more babies.

OMG...that picture of Henry...16th birthday in the paper!! Too funny.

I'm am so sick over this poor little baby. I can't get it out of my head. Why didn't she just give the baby to someone who wanted him!!!?
Henry at the dr. Oh my god! So cute! Did he lay like that or did you pose him? Love it!
No margs for me. Breaking Dawn baby!! You could meet us in Waterloo for drinks before the movie! :)

Keegan was a belly sleeper....and he just turned 4! And I like to think he is somewhat normal! Lol you better believe Carson will be on his belly too if that's how he wants to sleep.

Ha! Yes. I guess I read that wrong. Whoops. I've been up since 4:30, that's my excuse ;)

Lyla sleeps on her belly. I freaked about it for about the first two months when I thought she wasn't strong enough to move her head if she needed to.. but that was silly. I am so mad about this mom. I felt so bad for her yesterday. Ugh. I just Sat on the couch holding Lyla watching it and did not want to let go. A marg sounds so so good. And a chicken taco. Because you know what makes me mad? A person I know got up at five this morning and is doing whatever the f they want til whenever the f they want ... and is doing the same til probly Tuesday. What? Hello? You took off work, not life for the week. Ok, that's all.

I had a mental breakdown (literally) when JJ was 3 weeks old because the kid WOULD. NOT. SLEEP. unless he was being held. Like, my brother came out to stay with me a couple days so I could sleep. ANYWAYS, my mother finally suggested letting him sleep on his tummy. He slept 5 hours straight! I told her what about SIDS? And she said, "Beth, your entire generation slept on their stomachs. The doctors told us that if we put you kids on your backs you had a greater chance of dying of SIDS. It's come full circle." With no apologies whatsoever to whoever wants to make a stink about it - my boy was a tummy sleeper. The end.

OK - on to the mother. I don't know what to think. I mean, I sleep like the DEAD for reals, and if no one (or no alarm) woke me up I would sleep the day away no problem. Part of me wants to just assume she's the same way. Had no idea her kid was missing and that he was her alarm clock - she'd just get up whenever she heard him wake up. That's my sincere hope, anyway...because I would sleep til noon easy if JJ wasn't in his bed yelling for me. (Although I don't get all the news out here in WV, so if there are other facts I'm not considering...I'm not sticking up for her.)

And now that mommy is in custody. PTL! ugh, sick sick people.

ok, GOOD! thank you for all your mommys with belly sleeping babies!! i'm not gona lie i checked on him about 2395928 times last night just because but i agree 100% with what you mom said beth! i swear every 10 years it's changing, sleep them on their bellys, no sleep them on their backs. it's like WTF!

idk i always think, what did my gma do? she didn't have a doc down her throat every 4 weeks telling her to put her baby on its back. and they all turned out fine. who knows.

and erin - i feel ya sister. in my next life i wana come back as a daddy. geesh!

That picture of Henry just cracks me up! He is sooo cute! And add us to the list of belly sleepers!

This whole baby situation is really breaking my heart. I'm grappling with the fine line between innocent until proven guilty and the fact that the whole scenario is beyond fishy. I try to err on the side of grace more often that not, but at the end of the day...a defenseless child lost their life and someone needs to be the voice for the voiceless. Just so, so sad.

This tragedy is cause for a lot of reflection for me, because I am one of those mothers who uses her babies as an alarm clock. I've been reading a lot of comments lately about how terrible that is, and honestly...I never really thought about it. Might have to make a change, because I can't imagine carrying that kind of guilt if something ever happened to one of my children.

I have to say that I have not heard the whole story except what people on Facebook are saying and blogger....( I am in my own little world right now with the house stuff and have not had the news or anything on)...but what I have heard I think its alittle fishy...and if my baby wasn't up by 8 I would have checked on her a few times...unless I knew she went to bed super late....but probably would have still checked on her. I just don't get people now a days....if you don't want a baby either use protection...don't have sex or adoption...there are lots of people that can't have babies and would love to have one. It's just sad that this mother thought it was ok to kill her baby boy!...DISGUSTING

Henry's pic is so stinking cute..OMG!!!!

I would love to have margs with you but my schedule seems to be filled till after Thanksgiving and I am sure it just gonna get worse with CHristmas!...CRAZINESS

I think she shook the baby and then tried to cover it up. I think she just lost it.. he probably kept crying or something and she freaked out. I bet the doll was just for her to show them what happened with the baby. Then she confessed to it all. That's what I think.

Beth said...

Ok, I take it all back. Live press conference on KSDK.com - the STL District Attorney is saying that she confessed to beating him and dumping his body when he wouldn't go to sleep. At the VERY LEAST, she deserves the same to be done to her.

Adrien said...

Yep - was just checking back in to see if anyone had heard. Cause of death: blunt force trauma. :(

Cassie said...

EXACTLY Beth! Best penalty, the same done to her.

Ugh there are SO MANY people in this world who can not have babies and would love that little boy with their whole heart. Makes me sick.

Heather said...

My thoughts exactly Cassie.

What a sick sick person. Ugh... seriously. She could have called anyone. Or 911 if she couldn't handle it. Uugghh. Barf. And I also want to point out how my prediction was so right. Weird.. but right.
