It's Baby Day!!!

9:50 a.m.
So let's start from the beginning.  I got "the call" at 7:00 a.m.  Wow-wee it kinda hit me like a ton of bricks.  Ready or not I'm having a baby today.  I told the guy on the phone it would be a bit before we could get there since we live 45 minutes away, I have a toddler and lovely 270 morning traffic.  I called Lacie to come over and get me since Josh went to work.  Yes, my husband is at work.  Which really is totally fine by me.  Honestly.  Not like he really is missing much.  And he should be here by noon, so it's ok.  Anyways, we loaded up Lacie's car and headed to drop Stella off at Connies.  Man oh man was that hard.  I fought back the tears like no other.  Ugh, I don't even want to think about it.  Once we dropped her off we headed to Hardess.  Momma needed her "last supper" lol.  And a hot ham and cheese was calling my name.  Of course I am driving because well Lacie, she just can't do STL traffic very well.  And it's kinda tradition for me to drive myself to the hospital.  lol.
We got here around 9:00 and got all checked in, hooked up and poked and prodded at.  Ha.  Lacie sure if learning a lot.  lol.

10:00 a.m.
Well, I was in the middle of the first paragraph and the nurse came back in and said, "We are going to break your water."  Ummm, ok!  Ha so we are about 13 minutes past 10 and I am all hooked up to the pitocin and my water is broke.  Nurse said she for sure thinks we will have a baby by 5:00.  Called Josh and he is off work and headed up here.  Stay tuned!
Crazy Cassie hasn't surfaced just yet but they aren't messing around this time.  I promise to get the epidural when I really start feeling the contractions.

Noon
Wowza, I would say contractions are about 3 minutes apart.  I was just checked and I'm 4.5 cm so making progress.  My nurse asks every time she comes in if I want the epidural but I am really trying to hold out just a little bit more.  Maybe 12:30 or 1:00 or if these contractions become about 2 minutes apart.  I think if I can still blog, text, and talk I am doing ok.  lol.  Baby is very active which is a good sign.  Oh and Josh is here now too.  So baby can come.  Otherwise not too much else to update on.  Kinda jealous that everyone gets to go eat lunch and my lunch is going to be ice chips.  Especially because St. John's food is SO GOOD!  So next time I update I may be in lala land and typing crazy things from the epidural.  lol.

9:15 p.m.
Well, so much for the awesome play by play action.  PTL for FB.  lol.  I just opened my computer up to find an update I was typing at 1:45.  And well, my son was born at 2:15, so that should give you some idea on how quick things went.  So let's start with what I was GOING to say at 1:45.
I got the epidural around 12:45.  I have never wanted my legs to feel like they were 3498938 pounds ever before.  It was ah-mazing.  Hurt a little more this time than last time but I couldn't have asked for it at a better time.  Once I got the epidural I was cool, calm and collectiv,e at about a 6, and ready to enjoy some Ellen on TV.  lol.  My sister and Josh left to go find my Dad who came in the wrong entrance and was lost.  Ha, gotta have some drama, right?  Then they headed to eat while I got some rest.  Around 1:45 is they came back up.  It wasn't a few minutes they were in the room and the nurse came in to check me.  Since I had my epidural I wasn't able to get up and go to the bathroom so she had to empty my bladder for me.  She inserted the uh, catheter (man I hate that word) and told me that I was at an 8.  She said emptying my bladder can sometimes move things right along.  I do think she even had time to empty out the pan and I said, "holy pressure!!"  She came back, checked me and yep, his head was right there and I was a ten.  She called Snowden and started getting everything in place.  Josh went out in the hallway to tell my Mom, Dad and Lacie that we were having a baby.  I was told they all were like WHHHHATTTT!!  lol.  We all got set up, about 5 pushes and 15 minutes later, Henry George Walter came into the world at 2:15 p.m. weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces and 20 inches long.  And he is PERFECT!!
Not really sure who he looks like.  Might have that Steibel nose.  But sure doesn't look too much like his sister.  BF-ing is a little frustrating.  Not my thing, but I tried it for his first feeding.  I am the type where I like to do things right the first time and this is a very trial and error type of thing.  But I am learning.  We will see how it goes.  He has had a few bottles since obviously I'm not producing much now.  His little "surgery" is planned for first thing in the morning, poor little guy.  But after that we are just going to await on the arrival of his big sister and see how that all goes.
We have quite the quiet little guy and quite the sleeper so Mom and Dad are getting rest.  We had some great visitors tonight and open for more tomorrow.  Hoping to be home Thursday afternoon.  Until then Lacie and Abbie are keeping a guard on everything.
Oh and how did Lacie do in the delivery room with me?  Awesome.  She was a little bit of a cry baby, but who doesn't cry seeing the birth of a child?!?!  I think it was some great birth control though for her, and definitely something she will never forget.
Thanks to everyone for the warm and well wishes.  We are truly blessed!!
