Fingers Crossed.....

Well, it's Thursday, and as of right now everyone has been at their desired locations all day....knock on wood....

Yesterday at 3:30 I got a call that Stella had a 102 fever at daycare.  I dropped everything, got in the car, made a doctor's appointment for her, and off we went.  The doctor, well, that was interesting.....I am truly amazed by some people.  I told the appointment setter who made us an appointment for 4:30 that we were going to be at least 10 minutes late, she said no problem.  When I got there 15 minutes late the door was locked.  I could see the receptionist at the front desk so I knocked (ok, maybe banged) on the front door.  Of course, she turned her head, rolled her eyes, and got up to come to the door.  She opened the door and I said, "Hi, we had an appointment at 4:30, I told the appointment setter that we would be at least fifteen minutes late."  She in reply said, "well I'm going to have to see if she will even take her."  I thought to myself ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!  So she shuts the door, yes, leaving me OUTSIDE, and goes to see if the doctor will even see my SICK CHILD who has had a 101 FEVER for the past THREE DAYS!  She comes back and says, "she will see her."  It took everything in my power to say, 'thank you'.  We walked in and I was prompt to get out my insurance card and $10 co-pay.  I didn't want this receptionist to work any harder than she had too...... So we take care of all of that and I walk back to my chair.  I see a nurse come up to the window and the receptionist says, "someone is here" followed by and loud, "are you serious."  Needless to say, Mean Momma came out.  I got up and walked to the window and said, "we can go somewhere else if we have to," they both looked at me with an 'omg she just heard us' look on their face and went back to their business.  Ugh.  We were quick to get into a room.  When the doctor came in, I kept saying, thank you so much for seeing us, and sorry that we were late.  She kept saying, no big deal, no big deal.  So I lay Stella on the table for her to check out.  She starts looking in her ears and then says, "well i thought this was just going to be a simple ear infection, but her ears look fine, guess I'm going to have to work at little harder today." Again, I held back the urge to hell, WTF!  So she checks everything else out and asks me 10,000 questions, all while making me feel like I'm this horrible parent.  It took everything in me not to just gab Stella, get her dressed and tell the doctor that we were going to go somewhere else and we would never step back in that office again!  She finally determine that she has a sore throat and a bit of bronchitis.  Which I 50% believe, and think it was just a bull shit answer to get me out of there.  She gave us a prescription and then packed up her stuff and was out of there.  Ohhh, just such a lovely doctor visit......
So yes, we are taking recommendation on new pediatricians, preferably ones with later hours an one that's done rely on google to tell them what is wrong with their patients.  Seriously, I can google lady........
And Josh, well he is doing OK.  Still has a TON of pain.  Went to the doctor yesterday and she went over all of his test results with him.  He obviously has a huge problem with his kidneys and she is thinking that all of the high blood pressure meds he has taken over the years is what has caused it.  So she is hoping within the next month that he can see a kidney specialist and only have to take ONE pill for his HBP!!  That's great!!  I just hope that's what the kidney specialist says, and that it's not something worse.  Good news though, he lost 10 pounds.  I'm very proud of him for that!!!
Whew, what a week.....
Oh and the bathroom, yeah that 2 and a half day project I was relying on, yeah we are on Day 5.  I think MAYBE by Sunday it will be done, and that's thinking positive.  We owe a HUGE thank you to my Dad for coming over and helping out!!
