Weekend Wrap Up
this weekend kicked off football season for us and we are loving it!
and with football season brings all the fall things.
including my first PSL of the season.
i went out on a limb and got the cold cream.
lawd it did NOT disappoint.
now let's let's rewind a bit.
friday night was a chill night.
that was until my darling, sweet, ever so lovely 4th grader decided to introduce her new instrument to the family.
the recorder.
lord help us.
give me the strength to get through this season.
the only instrument i ever played was the piano.
good news - jon, stella and wesley ran to the store saturday morning and found a "music set" for wesley and it included a recorder (flute) as well.
so now we have a duet in our house.
whew.
saturday morning was full of football practice for the boys and stella joined them to hang with her biker gang.
there are a handful of football "sisters" that bring their bikes to practice and hang out while their brother's practice.
i think the name is fitting.
wesley and i joined the neighbors for some coffee and catch up time at the coffee shop in town.
after a busy morning we were home for a quick lunch and henry and my dad went off for "man day"
which consisted of rural king and walmart - and the rest of us headed to a birthday party.
the bigs headed to their dads later that afternoon for a slumber party with their grandparents.
jon and i got the pool closed up for the winter.
i think we might have one more year left with the pool and then it's time.
time for momma to get a new backyard with NO pool.
yes - you heard that right.
no pool.
i can't wait for the day.
wesley took a nice long nap and i got some much needed painting taken care of outside.
nothing #jonandcassiediy worthy.
but a subtle facelift.
jon headed out and checked trail cams and we chilled at home the rest of the night.
sunday we woke up to alllllll the rains.
which was a total bummer because jon was set to have his first game at noon.
we picked up the bigs, headed to the field early and prayed it would hold off.
but no such luck and his first game was cancelled.
dude was super bummed.
luckily henry's game was at a different location and the show was still on.
we spent our afternoon cheering on henry and his team to a victory.
he moved up a level this year so he was extremely nervous about his first game with some much bigger kids. but he held his own.
i love watching him play this sport. he loves it so much.
we got home and did nothing but relax the rest of the evening.
we have a BUSY week ahead.
tonight is literally the ONLY night we have nothing going on.
